Mandarin (citrus reticulata)(certified organic): Mandarin has properties that resemble those of chamomile much more than any other citrus oil. It is very similar to tangerine esssential oil and is called mandarin because the fruit was a traditional gift to the Mandarins of China. This oil is reknowned for its calming properties.
Valerian (valeriana officinalis): Valerian has been highly esteemed since medieval times and is widely know for its calming and relaxing properties.
Tangerine (citrus reticulata): This oil is very similar to mandarin oil and is considered to be very calming and to be a slight sedative.
Grapefruit (citrus paridisi)(certified organic): Another potent citrus oil which combats nervous exhaustion and helps relieve performance anxiety and stress.
German (blue) chamomile (matricaria chamomilla)(certified organic): This oil is widely known as a nerve sedative and for its calming properties. It is known as blue chamomile because the essential oil is the deepest blue in color. In ancient Egyptian medicine, chamomile is an emblem of the omnipotence of Ra through its power to restore wholeness to the self, and in Beatrix Potter’s story "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", Peter’s mother gave him a dose of chamomile tea to calm and comfort him after a day of mischief in the garden.
Clary sage (salvia sclarea): This oil is of great use as a nerve tonic and is known for being an anti-depressant and sedative. The herb derives its name from the Latin clarus, which means "clear". The herb was nicknamed “clear eyes” during the Middle Ages for its famous ability to clear tired or strained eyes and blurred vision.
Lavender (lavendula angustifolia)(certified organic): This oil is great for relaxation and the relief of stress and tension. Greeks and Romans perfumed their bathwater with lavender oil, burned lavender incense to appease their wrathful gods, and believed the scent of lavender to be soothing to untamed lions and tigers.

Directions For Use:
Shake well before using as some of the oils will separate over time. Take 2 to 10 drops under the tongue or orally as needed, either by itself, or mixed into a couple of ounces of milk or water. You will notice an almost immediate reduction in stress. Anti-Stress Elixir may also be used in aromatherapy or mixed with massage oils (such as almond) for a calming and stress releasing massage.
